Melur and Thyme (Biz Trip to KL)
Melur and Thyme.
What can I say? The name itself intrigues me…..
When I made a business trip to KL, I was recommended to try Melur and Thyme. I checked out their menu and got pretty excited at the food selection. I mean….they have halal duck satay and Peking duck! And halal Thai beef salad! Ok for probably most of you…..these are food that are like “meh...I can get that at some other places”. Well, people like me who lives in a western country with limited halal food selection...when someone recommends me this place with such menu...I’m like "WHOA...I have got to try…” We normally get such menu at non-halal places so if we want to eat, we have to cook them ourselves. So, it really is a novelty to get to eat such food at a halal restaurant.
There are 3 different locations of Melur and Thyme. One being in KLCC, one in NU Sentral and another in Subang Jaya. We went to the one at KLCC. I love the interior design…
Well, we kinda knew what we wanted to have. Duck satay was definitely in the list and so was Peking duck. Duck satay was really good, Alhamdulillah. For Peking Duck, I think they tried a local twist to it by eating the sliced duck with the sauce and cucumbers by rolling them with Roti Jala instead of the normal thin pancakes. I cannot comment much as i have not tried with the thin pancakes myself. But otherwise, the duck and sauce were quite good.
We did not get to try the thai beef salad though. We ended having fruit salad which is not too bad. All in all, I would actually return to try their fried oyster mushroom, thai beef salad and being a sweet tooth….I would love to try their dessert ( if i can fit in anything else in my tummy...otherwise i will just go there for dessert).
